Cake Poker

August 31st, 2010

The mobile iPhone casino poker site, Cake Poker, will give you rewards and incentives for your volume of play. Sign up with them and choose whatever method you find convenient for your bankroll account through the ‘casino cashier’.

They have new incentives that will be given for the speed in which you complete a stack. Instant rewards can be earned by gaining Gold Chips as bonuses each time you create a stack. You can play through their 50 different levels of play and earn bonuses in every level. The rewards that you earn through volume and speed of play are earned and given instantly instead of being redeemable. This will help to keep your bankroll flowing.

When you become a regular visitor to their site you’ll begin to receive points for playing frequently. You can use the frequent player Gold Chips to build up your stacks. You can also use them to buy in to the tournaments and daily satellites.

The Gold Tab offerings include tournaments and those can be entered by way of the Cake Shop. Gold Chips can be used as trade for buy ins. The Cake Shop offers actual shopping for poker related goods and novelties. Ipods are even available here and can be bought with your Gold Chip money.

Another feature of this fun site for iPhone poker is the randomly issued Gold Cards. They are rewards that you are eligible to receive wherever you are playing in a real money game. If you fold your hand in a ring game, you could still receive one of the special Gold Cards. Collect them for cash or other prizes.

Durrrrr Challenge Continues

August 30th, 2010

Follow the big money play on your mobile iPhone. The big players are now up in the neighbourhood of USD $500,000 dollars. Daniel Cates, also known as Jungleman 12, has been playing many large hands so his numbers are growing considerably.

Tom Dwan, also playing this challenge and at one point was actually up by 200k. It took 1400 hands for him to get to that point. Risk is a commonality between the two men, as both take risk as though they’re playing penny slots but with huge sums of money.

This is how the pros do it. They play literally thousands of hands and they play them very quickly. There’s not much time to make decisions, so if you were to attempt to compete on this level, you would have to be quick on the draw.

The only way to give yourself a fighting chance in the bigger money tourneys is to practice until you are somewhere close to their level. If they have played so many thousands of hands just in this challenge, can you only imagine how many they have played since they were rookie players? This is not to discourage, but to make one realize what it takes and just what these players have done to earn the big purses

They have played well over 5,000 hands since the challenge began. When they are finished they will have played over 50 thousand hands. This should help to prepare them for the big tournament. The World Series of Poker Europe is set to begin in mid September.

Mobile Poker Can Be Improved By Watching Online Games

August 24th, 2010

So you have decided to play iPhone poker on your new iPhone mobile device. It is quite different than live poker which you may or may not have experience with. The differences are in the environment, of course, but also lie in the reactions of the other players. You will not have any idea what they are up to when you use your phone to play poker for mobiles.

One way to help train yourself for mobile poker is to go to an online site and practice there. You must learn to play without the aid of tells from others. When you are at the online sites you can use your computer or laptop for ease of access and play because it is much easier to see the screens that are designed for the larger viewing area.

Playing on your phone will be different in that respect, too. With a smaller viewing area the games are not as easy to see if you try to play online games designed for a computer instead of the ones that have been engineered for use exclusively by the touch screen iPhone mobile devices.

Get used to the difference in play, but learn the game well first. Play at the online gambling sites that dot the Internet and get yourself familiar with all of the aspects of poker played electronically without the advantage of player reactions and the sounds that a player may make when frustrated or giving away the bluff or the hand.

Rush Poker Simulates Live Play

August 23rd, 2010

When playing mobile phone poker online there is a game that most closely simulates the action of live casino poker play. Rush poker allows for each player to fold and move quickly to the next table. When you move your hand will be there for you at the next table so you won’t have to wait for the deal. This can be quite exciting as you will be able to play hand after hand at table after table without stopping until you are ready to quit.

Online poker and poker for mobiles have required waiting time while you fold your hand, and then wait for the next setup to be ready. You can perform other short tasks like checking your email, for example, while waiting. Rush poker isn’t designed that way. There won’t be any time for you to do anything else. You will need to pay strict attention the entire time as you will go through hands quickly.

Just think. You can pull your favourite slick moves at one table, and then you’ll be moving immediately to the next, so you’ll be playing different players. The subsequent players won’t be wise to your style because they haven’t seen you play as yet. It’s like that for every table.

Perhaps the best advantage this form of play can offer you is the experience you’ll receive playing so many hands in so short a period of time. You’ll need to think quickly, act, and move on to the next table. This will give you much more actual time playing and less time waiting.

Quiz Questions From the Pros

August 20th, 2010

A great way to sharpen your mobile phone poker skills is to be given a scenario and state what you would do with that hand. You’ll find out whether your intended move would be the best way to play it or not. Card Player offers Poker Hand Matchups that are similar to a quiz.

They present the scenario. You’ll get the details including the blinds, your hand, the stack size, and an action. They’ll give you the flop and the subsequent action. Then you get the opportunity to decide what you would do in this case. Would you call or would you fold?

Once you decide you can check with what the pros would do to see if you are even in the ballpark. The more times you play and come up with the same answer they give, the better you’ll know about your actual skills where it counts. When you think you are ready to move up to the next level check your skills against these professionals to confirm your readiness. If you miss too many times, you may want to get a bit more practice in at the lower levels before you move up and lose your bankroll.

As you know, poker is a game of skill and it’s a lot of fun, but you’ll have even more fun if you learn to make the right moves. Winning one hand and losing three is not the ideal situation and it wouldn’t indicate your ability to play iPhone poker with the big boys. Check your skills with this site to see where you stand.

Skills for Online Poker

August 18th, 2010

When you engage in online mobile phone poker from your mobile device, plan on spending some time in developing your skill sets. One of the best skills you can master is the timing tell. This is best described as the time it takes for the opponent player to move. The timing tell can give you a clue as to the strength or weakness of your opponent’s hand.

The time it takes to call on the flop, for example, can mean that the player has a weak hand if the call is made quickly and without much hesitation. A quick bet on a preflop can also mean a weak hand, but might also be an indication that he or she is bluffing. On the other hand, a slow 4-bet can show you that the player is holding something a bit better like a pair of Jacks perhaps.

Lower level players that are not experienced will be most obvious in these timing tells. There is a factor in higher stakes games, though, as well. They are much harder to pick up due to the players’ experience and their developed poker faces on the bluff. They will still be evident even for a split second of hesitation because it’s actually human nature to do so. In online poker you will not have the advantage of observing the face of your competitor, so you must use the timing’s fine detail to make your assessment.

Turn off the animation for your game so you can better judge the time the opponent is taking. In online poker for mobiles you can use only the timing to decide what you think your opponent is doing.

Odds Calculator App Available for iPhone Poker

August 16th, 2010

Mobile phone poker aids can help you to do your best with the hand you are dealt.  You can now take that a step further by downloading the Card Player Poker Odds Calculator designed specifically for your iPhone. This is a free app at this time.

This app can be used at the table to calculate your odds of winning in either Texas Hold’em or Omaha games. If you enter your possible hands into the calculator, you’ll instantly see what your odds are for each one. Play the hand you think has the best odds according to the app.

Enter the board cards to see what the flop, turn, and river odds look like. Choose your cards by using the exclusive card wheel. You’ll know what the odds are, which will help you to decide how and what to call while you are seated around the poker table.

If you are interested in learning the game of poker or improving your skills, place the mobile phone poker calculator on your iPhone and keep it on hand whenever you play. This is a good way to teach others about poker odds as well. Perhaps you want to increase the skills of the local card club to make game night more challenging.

The app will open in your iTunes. You can look for it in the iTunes app store for iPhones and iPod Touch as long as the iPod Touch is version iOS 4.0 or newer. It will be found under the name “Poker Odds.”

Irish Bookmakers Paddy Power Release New Mobile Casino Range

August 13th, 2010

Irish bookmaking giant Paddy Power has released a new range of 10 mobile casino games. After launching its initial mobile casino offering on the leading Apple iPhone handset, the expanded selection of games is now available for download from any Java enabled mobile handset.

The new selection of games will appeal to anyone who likes to gamble on mobile phones, and include casino favourites such as blackjack, roulette and video poker. The small portfolio of mobile casino games will soon be launched on other mobile phone handsets, including the leading Google Android operating system. Paddy Power also hopes to be able to launch its new, expanded range of mobile casino games on the Apple iPhone sooner rather than later.

“The mobile games service, which we developed with the mobile gaming and lottery provider Probability, has been created with the mobile customer in mind,” said James Grimes, a Product Manager for Paddy Power.

“We have been working on the games products for the past number of months and now we want to share it with all of our customers,” he added.

“The mobile games category promises to be a real growth area for innovation in the betting industry. Paddy Power is keen to be at the forefront of further mobile developments,” continued Grimes on future plans to offer the expanded range of mobile casino games on extra mobile phone handset platforms.

eCORGA Announce Low Complaint Levels Amongst Member Websites

August 12th, 2010

The European online and mobile gambling watchdog, eCORGA, has released statistics of the customer complaints that the organisation dealt with during the first half of 2010. In all, eCORGA received a low number of complaints against the gambling websites it certifies – just 376 people lodged complaints against online and mobile casino sites that are accredited by the watchdog.

Of the 376, 89 complaints were dismissed and not followed up by eCORGA. 33 cases were dismissed as they were against gambling services not presided over by eCORGA, and 56 were declared invalid because of issues such as detail or abuse.

All of the remaining 287 disputes that eCORGA received from online and mobile casino customers were resolved, with the watchdog ruling in favour of the customer 47 percent of the time. Most of the complaints were settled rapidly by eCORGA, usually within 48 or so hours.

Cash in complaints were the most common reported to eCORGA, representing 43 percent of all issues. Bonus problems were common complaints too at 21 percent, along with locked accounts also at 21 percent of all complaints.

“These numbers are similar, and in fact compare favourably with last year’s numbers, despite the fact that eCOGRA now has 11 more accredited venues than last year.” We have actually seen a decrease in dispute mediation requests,” said eCORGA Fair Gaming Advocate Tex Rees.

“Our operators are also better equipped and motivated to deal with disputes at the operator level,” added Rees.
